Why you need Video Marketing for your business

2015 is the year of videos! Just by adding a Video Marketing Strategy in 2015, you can potentially drive traffic, purchase and loyalty for your brand. When we mention video marketing, we are really saying brand storytelling. Videos that tell a story are the ones that are truly effective, valued and worth watching. Here are 3 reasons why you need to tell your story.

1. Video marketing will increase time visitors spend on your website.

Through analysis, we’ve seen visitors who view video content on a website usually will stay on average 2 minutes longer than those who don’t. Keep in mind, the first 10 seconds of your video is the most crucial, it’s actually how long you have to capture their attention. So already, they are spending 10 seconds on your website without clicking away. What’s great about a video is that even though it is viewed outside of your homepage, 75% of people who view a video will visit the brand website afterwards and 26% will look for more information around the topic! In short, by telling your story through a video, you are inviting the viewers in to learn more about your business or product, which then turns into interest.

2. Video Marketing will increase the chances someone will purchase your product or service.

It’s been shown that 64% of people are more likely to buy a product or service from a site after watching a video. When you think about it, given an option, 80% of people will rather watch a video, while the other 20% will read written content in its entirety. Think back when you were in high school, did you ever watch a movie for a book report instead of actually reading the book? Most of us did it, or at least considered it because it was easier right? It’s the same exact idea with Video Marketing. As human beings, we process visuals 60,000 times faster than text, so the faster we can gather all the purchasing information we need, the faster we can make a decision. Videos help in this process.

3. Video Marketing will allow you to connect with your customers on a human level.

Keep in mind, not ALL Video’s will convert sales. The video execution has to be done correctly. To tell a great story you need to answer a few questions such as: What’s your brand or product’s background? Why are you in business? How does your product or service impact customer’s lives? Your main goal is to TELL not SELL. Whether your story is heartfelt, humorous, or educational – find connections in your brand values and beliefs that consumers can relate to. People today like to know what they are paying for, they want to know where it comes from, how it’s being produced, they want to know who the people behind the scenes are, and put it together with video best practices, you’ll be able to produce a great video.
